How many sprays?
Based on past experience with these size canisters, from reading stories and a little “testing” my spray technique, you have enough for a few short bursts to test and see how it will flow in an emergency bear encounter. If and when you have a close encounter with a bear, and you need to use it, you spray the entire canister until empty. Everything I have read is you use it up because it’s not advised to plan to use a partially discharged one as you’ll never know just how much is left. I wouldn’t want to risk an encounter and think I had spray and I only had a short burst left. It could provoke the bear. Everyone knows you don’t want to poke the bear!

Can I check it on a plane, inside my checked luggage?
You cannot take Bear Spray on a plane in a carry-on or checked bag. The FAA limits pepper spray to 4 oz or less and all bear spray canisters are larger than that.
